Your practice is yours.
Who we are
Music Practice Journal is made by TODO: legal name. If you have a question about this policy, email support@musicpracticejournal.net.
Data that stays on your phone
Everything you put into your journal is saved on your iPhone and never sent to us: practice sessions and their notes and tags, your songs and their Status, your Weekly Goal and streak, metronome settings, and the audio takes you record. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Songs you upload for Play Along
When you upload audio to split into stems, the file is sent to our server (hosted on Amazon Web Services), processed, and the resulting stems are downloaded to your phone. We don't listen to your uploads or use them for anything other than separating them for you.
We keep uploaded audio and stems on the server for TODO: retention period, then delete them.
App verification
To stop abuse of the upload server, the app uses Firebase App Check by Google. It confirms that upload requests come from the genuine app on a real device. It does not track you or collect your journal data. See Google's Firebase privacy information.
Apple Music
If you choose to import songs from Apple Music, the app reads song titles and artists from your library to add them to Songs. It doesn't read your listening history and doesn't send any of this to us.
Microphone and notifications
The app asks for microphone access only to record takes, and those recordings stay on your phone. If you turn on practice reminders, they're scheduled on your phone at the time you pick.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your name, card number, or Apple ID, only whether your subscription is active.
Children
The app doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
